Google ‘green motorcycle’ and you’ll find an assortment of Kawasaki Ninjas. That’s how deeply rooted the color is in the Japanese company’s heritage. But it’s always a good idea to try something new, and Team Green has done just that. How, you ask? Well, by unveiling special editions of the Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-6R that can beat Ducati at its own game.

The two Kawasaki Ninjas celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day (August 17, 2023). Accordingly, these sport bikes don a special red-white livery inspired by the Indonesian flag. The right half of the motorcycles have a gloss red finish, accentuated by edgy white and black graphics. Whereas, the left half comes wrapped in a gleaming white base coat, complete with red and black highlights.

Plus, the motorcycles have a clear division in the middle–right from the front cowl to the tailpiece. Heck, even the air intakes are half red, half white to maintain the duality. The end result is a set of charismatic Kawasaki Ninjas that will turn heads wherever they go. Bonus points because we think this is the first “official” special edition of the new-for-2024 ZX-6R.

What else is different, you ask? Well, nothing. The ZX-10R carries forward its 999cc, inline-four powerhouse that produces 210 horsepower (with RAM Air) and 84 pound-feet. The engine is nestled inside a twin-spar cast aluminum chassis, suspended on 43 mm Showa SFF-BP forks and a Showa BFRC monoshock. You also get top-tier rider aids such as engine brake control, wheelie control, launch control, traction control, and cornering ABS.

Meanwhile, the ZX-6R employs a 636cc, inline-four screamer. There’s 127 horsepower (with RAM Air) and 51 pound-feet at your helm, all sent to the wheel via a six-speed transmission. A perimeter chassis houses the engine, suspended on 41 mm Showa USD forks and monoshock. In its latest update, the 6R also gained modern features such as a TFT instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, traction control, and an up-down quickshifter. These make it the class leader in the near-extinct 600cc supersport class.

The Ninjas in context are a special initiative by Kawasaki Indonesia, and only two such motorcycles exist as of now. There’s no news on whether these will go on sale, or how many such pieces will be made available. So we don’t expect either motorcycle anywhere near America, let alone outside of Indonesia. However, if you truly dig these, we suggest you get a $17,799 ZX-10R or $11,299 ZX-6R here and get them wrapped in such a livery. Easy peasy, right?
