Porsche set out to make the new GT3 RS the ultimate Porsche road car for track excellence. Every detail in its design is to push the capabilities of its performance. This new 992 generation takes technology straight from the 911 GT3 R race car. Race cars always see limitations to conform to the rules and regulations for racing. Yet, the GT3 RS is a road car, so it takes advantage of all the technology without any of the restrictions. Now that's called a win-win.
The new 2022 992 911 GT3 RS now offers 518 horsepower from its high-revving 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six. Its rear-wheel drive configuration still gets it from 0-to-60 in 3.0 seconds. The 7-speed PDK transmission has unique gear ratios specific to the GT3 RS. Yet, it is the lofty 9,000 RPM redline that is the real selling point. Yet, since its availability in 2018, the average sale price of a 991.2 GT3 RS is $243,972. RS Models are notorious for being difficult to buy, even if you have the money. Your best chance is to have a great relationship with your local Porsche dealership. Not to mention, at least owning at least a handful to show your loyalty to the brand.Although we don't have official figures on production numbers yet, we use the 991.2 With only 4,750 made and 1,462 shipped to the U.S, it would be a surprise to see more than 5,000 of the new 992 GT3 RS made as well. As always with RS models, exclusivity is the name of the game.
