The Ducati Multistrada V4 might have broken cover just a few years ago, but ADV has already received a handful of subtle-but-significant updates. These were aimed at making the company’s flagship adventure bike more usable and the same trend follows this year. That’s because the Italian giant has introduced a new feature for the big Multi, borrowed from the Multistrada V4 Rally variant (introduced last year). Oh, and it’s a free-of-cost addition!

Ducati Multistrada V4 S Gains ‘Easy Lift’ Function

Called ‘Easy Lift’, the function fully opens the valves of the electronic SkyHook suspension for three minutes when the ignition is turned on. This makes the front and rear suspension softer which, in turn, decreases the effort required to lift the hefty 536-pound Multistrada off its side stand. Once the time is up, the forks and monoshock go back to the original state (depending on the ride mode you’re in).

It seems like a cunning use of electronic suspension, one that will certainly make life easier in a variety of conditions. For example, the function could be super useful in loose terrain where your foot might not provide the utmost push for lifting the bike. Same goes for short riders who can’t flat foot when atop the ADV’s 840 mm (33.1-inch) perch.

The ‘Easy Lift’ Function Is Available Free Of Cost

The Easy Lift function will be available for new as well as existing Multistrada V4 S bikes. So if you’re buying a new one, it’ll come as part of the standard kit. Whereas if you already have one, you can simply head to your nearest Ducati dealership and get the software updated free of cost. The bikemaker will also reach out to customers via email and the MyDucati app, so watch out for that too. It goes without saying owners of the Multistrada V4 (non-S variant) are not eligible for the update since the motorcycle doesn’t feature electronic adjustability in the first place.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 S Starts From $27,195

With no extra cost, the Multistrada V4 S continues to start from $27,195 in the United States. There are three colors on offer–Ducati Red, Aviator Grey, and Iceberg White–where the last two cost $300 more than the base MSRP. You can also opt for spoke wheels for an extra $800.

What do you get for the money, you ask? Well, a lot. The protagonist is Ducati’s 1,158cc, Grantourismo, V4 engine that puts out 170 horsepower and 92 pound-feet. This is paired with Panigale V4-derived rider aids and a segment-leading radar system. The former includes traction control, wheelie control, ride modes, and cornering ABS while the latter enables features like blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control. So safe to say you’ll be getting your money’s worth if you pick this up.
