Luxury motorcycle maker MV Agusta might be based out of Italy, but the brand ranks America as its “most important market”. And to prove just that, the bikemaker has repeatedly produced special edition motorcycles exclusively for the United States. The 1973 750 S kickstarted the trend, while the ‘04 Brutale 750, ‘12 Brutale 1090RR, ‘17 Brutale 800 RR, and 2018 Dragster 800 RR took the legacy forward. Keeping the trend going, the Varese brand has now added the 2024 Dragster RR SCS America (long name, we know) to this elusive list. Here’s all you need to know about it.

The limited edition Dragster stands out from its siblings via a new livery. MV Agusta has wrapped it in a triple-tone red, white, and blue colorway to recall the shades of the Star Spangled Banner. Blue is the dominant color here, found on the front fender, tail panels, and most of the fuel tank. Whereas, you have red accents on the top of the fuel tank and on the seat cover, followed by white inserts on each side of the tank and side panels.

The special livery comes to a close via the triple-tone carbon fiber wheel outback and ‘America Special Edition’ inserts on the seat and tank. Once on the saddle, you’ll also appreciate the laser engraving on the triple tree, which marks the number of your RR out of the uber-limited 300-unit production. All bikes will only go on sale in America, each with a transparent clutch case, a certificate of authenticity, and a bespoke motorcycle cover.

And that’s about it for the changes, because the Dragster RR SCS America has no mechanical changes. It employs MV Agusta’s 798cc, triple-cylinder screamer that churns out 140 horsepower (at 12,300 RPM) and 64 pound-feet (at 10,250 RPM). The power reaches the wheel via a six-speed transmission, equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter from the factory. You also get other electronic aids such as wheelie control, traction control, launch control, and cruise control–all accessible by a TFT instrument cluster.

The engine is nestled inside a tubular steel trellis chassis, suspended on 43 mm Marzocchi USD forks and a Sachs monoshock, both fully adjustable. Topping these is a set of 17-inch forged aluminum wheels that house two 320 mm discs and a single 220 mm rotor fore and aft. All the expensive material ensures a dry weight of just 385 pounds, so MV has also thrown in a steering damper as an extra safety net.

MV Agustas are nowhere near affordable for most of us, and the limited edition Dragster only cements this statement. Priced at $28,247, the America edition costs ~$4,800 more than the RR SCS model. That is a bit steep, but given the exclusivity, there’s no denying this will be a valuable prospect in the coming years. So would you spend your hard-earned cash on it? Comment down below.
