To call Royal Enfield’s 650cc lineup a success would be a gross understatement. After all, the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 are popular worldwide (backed up by their impressive global sales numbers), with the Super Meteor 650 walking the same path. But just like any other bikemaker, RE wants more. And by more, the Indian giant doesn’t just mean more 650cc motorcycles, but also an entirely new 750cc lineup. Here’s all you need to know about it.

Royal Enfield Is Working On A 750cc Bobber

According to trusted Indian site AutoCar Professional, Royal Enfield has a 750cc bobber in the works under the codename ‘R2G’. The project is in full swing at the company’s facility in Britain and the bobber will probably be a scapegoat here. So once the company judges its success, the 750cc lineup will spawn an assortment of middleweight motorcycles. Judging from the 650s, a roadster, cafe racer, cruiser, and even an adventure bike seem possible.

At the helm of the lineup will be an all-new 750cc twin-cylinder engine. It’ll be based on the successful 648cc parallel-twin platform, albeit with several changes to focus on more power and torque. While these will be the obvious focus areas, also expected is liquid-cooling instead of the existing air-cooled setup. If so, the 750cc lineup will make for a perfect upgrade for owners of Royal Enfield’s upcoming 450cc liquid-cooled range of motorcycles.

Thus far, Royal Enfield’s key market has been its home turf, India. But middleweights are nowhere near as popular there. So with its new platform, RE’s aim will be to take on America, Europe, and Britain, where 600-800cc bikes have immense scope. In fact, the bikemaker is building its bobber with grave feedback from multiple places (India, North America, Europe) just for this very reason. However, the Indian giant will have to stand out in a sea of namesake companies to make an impression here. Triumph, Honda, Suzuki, BMW–all have motorcycles in the said segment and won’t make life easy for RE. But, we're plenty excited to see the Indian giant go against these brands for the first time.

The Royal Enfield 750cc Lineup Is Still Far Away

As exciting as all this sounds, you’ll need to wait a while for a 750cc RE. The company plans to debut its the 750cc bobber in 2025, followed by its similar-engined siblings later. This means we could see the first spy shots and prototype bubble up in 2024. What you should also know is that the 750cc lineup will probably be Royal Enfield’s biggest ICE platform before it shifts full effort into the EV initiative. This aligns with the previous rumors suggesting RE’s full-sized electric motorcycle (built alongside Stark EV) will debut around 2026. So it won’t be wrong to think of the 750 lineup as the bikemaker’s last hurrah for internal combustion engines, right?
